Record-breaking Giving Tuesday sparks momentum

Fort Lewis College raised a historic $722,000 in just 24 hours during its sixth annual Giving Tuesday, with 611 donors contributing to student success, academic innovation, and athletics. The campaign shattered previous records, thanks to 50 creative giving challenges and a surge in alumni engagement.

“This Giving Tuesday was about more than numbers—it was about coming together to invest in our students’ futures,” said Melissa Mount, vice president of Advancement. Alumni gave nearly $260,450, while Athletics raised $172,000 alone. Strategic outreach focused on key priorities, from student well-being to research, and fueled broad-based support.

With the highest number of alumni donors in Giving Tuesday history, the campaign powered the FLC Foundation to $20.9 million in gifts and 1,500 new donors by the end of the fiscal year.
