It’s the beginning of another school year, which always brings new energy back to campus. This is an exciting time to be at Fort Lewis College. Our new Geosciences, Physics and Engineering Hall is taking shape. Construction is on schedule (maybe even a little ahead of schedule) for completion in 2016. By this time next year, I expect us to be moving into our new building. Welcome Skyhawks! It’s the beginning of another school year, which always brings new energy back to campus. This is an exciting time to be at Fort Lewis College. Our new Geosciences, Physics and Engineering Hall is taking shape. This fall we will also welcome the visit from the Higher Learning Commission’s accreditation team. The team will be examining and assessing the rigor and quality of the education that Fort Lewis College offers. I am confident that they will like what they see. Thank you to all of those faculty, staff, students, and community members who have worked so hard on our re-accreditation effort. We have so much planned for this coming year. In September we’ll have the opportunity to hear from Dr. Temple Grandin, author of this year’s Common Reading Experience selection. In October is our Homecoming celebration, which is always a great time. On top of those events, there is no shortage of music and theatre performances, art exhibitions, and athletics games to choose from.
