Our Skyhawk Athletics' goal to graduate champions in the classroom, competition, and greater community continues with the Common Spirit Performance Center. This state-of-the-art facility will provide innovative performance, rehabilitation, nutrition, and wellness programs. We're honored to partner with Common Spirit for critical programming and cultural celebrations, including Fiesta on the Mesa and Hozhoni Days. Renovations are expected to begin in Fall 2023. Wellness programming kicked off in Spring 2023.
Thanks to the generosity of the Dears and Christina Erteszek’s family, and with support from The Colorado Health Foundation and Boettcher Foundation, we are moving forward with plans for the Sky Pavilion & Cultural Gardens. This outdoor learning and community space will feature Indigenous gardens and interactive features designed to spark meaningful experiences through the arts, culture, and environment.
The FLC Foundation received $1.7 million from The Colorado Health Foundation to support the CU Anschutz FLC Nursing Collaborative. This substantial grant will contribute to the transformation of Skyhawk Hall into inclusive nursing simulation labs and classrooms. The grant also funds curriculum development and student scholarships. FLC welcomed the first cohort of pre-nursing students in August 2023.
The Alumni Engagement programs build community connections through professional development and networking opportunities while encouraging a culture of philanthropy.
The Skyhawk community was incredibly active this past November donating to Fort Lewis College's fourth-annual #Giving Tuesday. What a success!
The most popular causes backed by our community included food and housing security for students, academic programs, student services, faculty grants, Skyhawk Athletics, the President's Impact Fund, and the Diversity Affairs Impact Fund.
Thank you for supporting our most successful #GivingTuesday in FLC's history!
Donors who include the Fort Lewis College Foundation in their estate plans are recognized for their generosity as members of the Soaring Hawk Society.
Last year, Soaring Hawk members pledged to support programs like the Old Fort, men's and women's Athletics scholarships, endowed professorships, and FLC scholarships.
